Education:

In 1986 graduates at Univ. of Ljubljana, Dept. of Civil Engineering . In 1989 receives master of science degree at Univ. of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrotechnics and Computer Science Computer Science Department with thesis Classes of Objects for the Modelling in Construction. In 1992 defends his Ph.D. thesis Environment for the Computer Integrated Design of Structures at University of Ljubljana, Dept. of Civil Engineering .

Positions:

1986-1989 Assistant Research Engineer, Univ. of Ljubljana, Institute of Structural and Earthquake Engineering and Building Informatics.
1989-1993 Assistant in Computer Science and CAAD, Univ. of Ljubljana, Department of Architecture.
1993-present Assistant Professor (for Computer Science and CAAD, Univ. of Ljubljana, Department of Architecture).

Memberships:

Co-chair of the society Informatica, section for Information systems and Networks;

Board Member of CIB-W78 .

Main Research Topics:

Computer integrated construction, EDM systems, groupware, engineering information systems, engineering databases, computerised representation of engineering standards, object-oriented and logic programming in civil engineering, conceptual modelling.

Other:

1984-1987 founding editor of the first Yugoslav magazine on microcomputers "Moj mikro". Wrote two books (in Slovene) on C and C++ languages.

• Research
  • Organizes workshop Construction on the Information Highway.
  • Co-edits The Electronic Journal of Information Technology in Construction.
  • Is involved in an Eureka ToCEE project. My ToCEE files are here.
  • Leads a two year national project TIGRA on construction information systems.
  • Heads a W78 sub-section for information systems.
• Teaching
  • Teaches architects a course on Computer science and CAD. Some of their project are on the web.
  • Teaches civil engineers descriptive geometry (looking for web contacts on the subject!)
• World Wide Web
  • Created the Virtual Software Library which grew into a multi-million reqests/day service on four continents.
  • Manages this WWW server.
  • Manages the ICARIS system.
  • Does some Perl programming.
  • Makes lots of spelling errors on the Web and elsewhere.
