Ziga Turk
Žiga Turk is an associate professor at the Department of Civil Engineering
and Geodesy at the University of Ljubljana. Born in 1962, he holds a B.Sc.
and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and a M.Sc. in Computer Science, all University
of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
His interests include construction information technology, computer
integrated construction, internet and Web, philosophy of CAD and modelling
and also the world-wide-web, Perl, J.S. Bach, skiing, tennis ...
In Slovenia he has been known as the founding editor of the Moj Mikro
magazine. He has been setting up Web servrs since 1993. His most popular
Internet invention is the Virtual Shareware Library.

Born in Ljubljana, 1962.
Education: In 1986 graduates at Univ. of Ljubljana,
Dept.
of Civil Engineering . In 1989 receives master of science degree at
Univ. of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrotechnics
and Computer Science Computer Science Department with thesis Classes
of Objects for the Modelling in Construction. In 1992 defends his Ph.D.
thesis Environment for the Computer Integrated Design
of Structures at University of Ljubljana,
Dept.
of Civil Engineering.

1986-1989 Assistant Research Engineer, Univ. of Ljubljana, Institute of
Structural and Earthquake Engineering and Building Informatics.

representation of engineering standards, object-oriented and logic programming
in civil engineering, conceptual modelling, internet, web and mobile communications
in construction.
Other: 1984-1987 founding editor of the first Yugoslav magazine
on microcomputers "Moj mikro". Wrote two books (in Slovene) on C and C++
languages.
