Ziga Turk

iga Turk is an assistant professor at the Department of Civil Engineering and Geodesy at the University of Ljubljana. Born in 1962, he holds a B.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and a M.Sc. in Computer Science, all University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.   

His interests include construction information technology, computer integrated construction, computerization of building regulations, world-wide-web, Perl, C++, J.S. Bach, skiing, ...   

In Slovenia he is known as the founding editor of the Moj Mikro magazine. His most popular Internet invention is the Virtual Shareware Library.

Biography 
Born in Ljubljana, 1962, married, one child .   
Education: 
In 1986 graduates at Univ. of Ljubljana, Dept. of Civil Engineering . In 1989 receives master of science degree at Univ. of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrotechnics and Computer Science Computer Science Department with thesis Classes of Objects for the Modelling in Construction. In 1992 defends his Ph.D. thesis Environment for the Computer Integrated Design of Structures at University of Ljubljana, Dept. of Civil Engineering . 
Positions: 
1986-1989 Assistant Research Engineer, Univ. of Ljubljana, Institute of Structural and Earthquake Engineering and Building Informatics.
1989-1993 Assistant in Computer Science and CAAD, Univ. of Ljubljana, Department of Architecture.  
1993-present Assistant Professor (for Computer Science and CAAD, Univ. of Ljubljana, Department of Architecture).

Main Research Topics:

1984-1987 founding editor of the first Yugoslav magazine on microcomputers "Moj mikro". Wrote two books (in Slovene) on C and C++ languages.
