This article discusses the Cumulative Index on CAAD (CUMINCAD.SciX.net). This digital library was set up in 1998 and has since served the CAAD-community as an important source of scientific information. During the first stage the metadata of most CAAD-related conference proceedings was compiled and published on-line, including all abstracts and about a half of full-texts. In a subsequent step a citation index was created. Currently theses and dissertations are being added to the library. Furthermore a hierarchical topic structure has been designed and the topics defined by keywords and characteristic papers. In the future, this will allow for an automated classification of the works. The next version of CUMINCAD, expected to be released later this year, will also include discussion forum, event calendar, an option to comment and rank works or include them in an on-line published personal bibliographic reviews. CUMINCAD is a unique digital libray in the field of CAAD and serves a growing user-community. Especially younger doctoral degree students and junior researchers benefit most from this edited, structured collection freely available on the Internet. |
